The objective of this course is to train the personnel that can be designated as Food Safety Supervisors in the catering establishment, about food safety and Hygiene requirements which are to be followed in their businesses. The Food Safety Supervisors (FSS) may interpret these requirements according to the size and type of their establishment. The desired outcome of this course is a better understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements and High standards of food safety in the catering industry.
Why is the Food Safety Training & Certification Program (FoSTaC) important?
Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has issued an order making it mandatory for all food businesses- caterers, Food supplier, manufacturers, companies transporting food items and retail outlets. There should be one trained ‘Food Safety Supervisor’ behind every 25 food handler who are working in the food industry.
